The area of the Eastern Docklands dates back to the XIX century and as the name implies, had a booming trade with the Dutch East Indies. This grew less and less after the great depression and the area fell into decay. Nowadays it’s a shining example of modern architecture, with a vibrant residential area at its’ core.
