Sleephere Guesthouse @ Sainte-Catherine in Brussels, your home away from home. The magnificent house in which this cozy guesthouse/hostel is based was built in 1694 and hosted the captaincy of the Brussels harbor in the 17th/18th century, before becoming the private estate of a merchant. At the “Captain's house”, guests benefit the settings of an historic estate, a vast, relaxing and quiet place, right in the middle of the historic city center, within 5 minutes’ walk to the Grand Place, and within direct connection the European Institutions and the major business centers (5 min by underground lines 1 or 5). We are located in the oldest part of the city, exactly where the port of the city used to be from the 12th up to the 19th century, in an area called Sainte-Catherine, often indicated as the “Fish Market”. These squares are amongst the most typical places of the city. All other places of interest in the city are next to us or within short walking distance: the main musea, the Grand Place with, of course, “Manneke Pis”, the Stock Exchange, the famous “Sablon” antiquarian’s area, the covered Saint-Gery market (now a great lounge and expo hall), the Saint-Hubertus Galleries, the Palace of Justice, etc. Being on lines 2 and 5, you are within easy reach from the underground station Sainte-Catherine of all major business, convention and expo sites like Brussels Expo on the Heysel , Tours & Taxi’s, the “Square” on the Mont des Arts, the Brussels universities, all the European Institutions and the Cinquantenaire. This place welcomes a maximum of 17 guests at the time. That’s why we can give you special attention! Staying at Sleephere Guesthouse is like living in Brussels, as if you were at home. No surprises in this place: guests staying at our place benefit the use of the whole house. All is included to make you feel at home!: free high capacity WIFI all over the house, great terraces and suspended garden with table tennis and BBQ, television, … You can use all common areas like the kitchen, a splendid sitting room, etc, and this at all times of the day. Plenty of games are available. You forgot your own towel? No problem. You are looking for something in particular? Don’t worry, we help you as much as we can. You want to drop your luggage before the rooms are ready or leave your luggage before taking a late train or plane? No problem! You need a computer? We have a computer available especially for guests. Our breakfast table (combined buffet and served) is composed of the best en freshest typical Belgian products: different types of special breads, many different spreads, juice, coffee, tea, chocolate, cheese , ham, eggs, fruits, cereals etc…. as many as you wish and served till 11 AM! You are looking to share a room, or you prefer an en-suite private room and yet enjoy the company of the other guests, or you want to book a room for your group or family? All is possible. We are totally flexible. All our rooms are deluxe or superior rooms, nice and comfortable, particularly bright and large, and for groups of 10 or more the rooms can even be converted as a private part of the house. The beds, mattresses and bed linen are of top 5 star quality. Bed linen is, of course, provided. All the above makes this place particularly comfortable for your stay and ideal to meet informally other guests. Thanks to our strategic position close to the main national and international train terminals, famous cities like Gent, Bruges, Antwerp are within a short train ride away (commuting within the day is perfectly possible), and we are literally within one or two hours reach of Amsterdam, London, Paris, Cologne, etc. Just ring the bell and our hospitality will do the rest.
