The hostel is now open again after closing down for 3 weeks for renovations. We've listened to your feedback and have made fixes to bugs and improvements based on your comments. Massive new flat screen TV on the lounge, which you can either watch FOXTEL cable TV or our increasing collection of movies from our computer hard drive, also you can play your own movies with your USB stick or online movies and watch it on the big screen with Home Theatre sound system. Improved free WIFI performance. Card system to open the doors. New showers and renovated toilets. Alarm on the back door to ensure that is kept closed improving security. New lounge furniture. Hostel Bambu is an intimate (70 person) travellers lodge in an excellent central location - we are in the very middle of the Northbridge entertainment area, surrounded by the cities best bars, cafes, museums and art galleries, and just 5 mins walk away from the commercial city centre. A free city bus service operates from our doorstep, taking you to all the major attractions and the cities major shopping malls. Decorated with an eclectic interior of artifacts, curios, and Buddha statues collected from across the Asian continent, our hostel is a well balanced mix of laid back chill during the week, while boasting a great party atmosphere with talented DJ's on weekend nights. Bambu's spacious private front lounge (reserved for you and your invited guests only), has its own BYO bar, where you can chill and serve your own drinks while slouching back in bamboo lounges listening to cool house music and acid jazz tracks. Friday nights at Bambu are quite simply legendary amongst the thousands of guests who have enjoyed a stay at Hostel Bambu. We offer all our guests complimentary daily breakfasts of cereals, toasts and jams, complimentary tea, sugar and coffee 24hrs per day, free WiFi access, free luggage storage, pool table and free DVD rental.
