The building is very traditional and elegant.Built in 1876, The Birmingham Grand Moat House is a splendid Victorian hotel with 173 Bedrooms, Meeting Centre facilities accommodate between 2 and 500 delegates and there are two Restaurants - Chamberlain's Restaurant and Hugo's Bar and Brasserie.The lobby is fairly small and could get fairly crowded at busy times. It has a small reception desk and a couple of seats.The Hotel is located in the heart of Birmingham, directly opposite the cathedral and main shopping area. It is a five minute walk from New Street station.There are two restaurants in the Hotel; The Carvery, which is decorated in dark woods and rich red colours. Also Chamberlains, which is decorated in soft greens and has an A La Carte menu.The rooms are medium and large in size and are en-suite. They have recently been refurbished and are in excellent condition, decorated in greens and blues. The bathrooms are particularly nice, some with marbled interior.
